Beer festival in Armenia

In the center of Yerevan people were walking with glasses. In the capital of Armenia there was a beer festival. The 4th Beer Festival was held on the Swan Lake in Yerevan. Competitions, tastings, show and just a cheerful mood – this was the atmosphere that prevailed the night before in the center of Yerevan. The first mention of Armenian beer is found in the work «Anabasis» of the Greek historian and Commander Xenophon and refers to the V century BC. The historian describes the drink, which was stored in barrels, and on the surface of which barley grains were floating. In 1952, a beer factory was founded in Yerevan. Today in our country there are seven breweries. The assortment is not less wide – from light to dark, from filtered to unfiltered. Such a variety was the reason for organizing an annual festival. Tourists had the opportunity to try the Armenian version of the amber drink, known in our region from time immemorial.
