Day 1: Tbilisi City — tour

  • Arrival at the international Airport of Georgia. Our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Tbilisi.
  • City tour of Tbilisi — the ancient capital of Georgia.
  • A trip to the Sioni Cathedral and the Metekhi Monastery, built on the rocky bank of the Kura River in the 13th century.
  • Visiting Anchiskhati — the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, the oldest surviving church in Tbilisi.
  • Excursion round Sameba, the highest cathedral in Caucasus.
  • Lunch in Tbilisi (Traditional Georgian Restaurant)
  • Visit to the fortress of Narikala. You will enjoy a beautiful view from the fortress.
  • Visiting sulfur baths, which, according to legend, were found during hunting by Vakhtang Gorgasali, the king of Iberia .
  • Transfer to the hotel. Free time

Day 2: Tbilisi — Ananuri — Kazbegi — Gergeti Sameba — Tbilisi

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • A trip to Ananuri, a fortress by the Aragvi River, which never ceases to excite people’s imagination.
  • Excursion to Mount Kazbegi (the highest point is 5047 m). You will cross the Jvari pass (2400 m above sea level).
  • Visit to the church of Gergeti Sameba (Holy Trinity), which is beautifully located at the foot of the mountain Kazbeg, on a hill 2170 meters high. The road to the church will take about 2 hours.
  • Lunch.
  • Return to Tbilisi. Transfer to the hotel. Free time.

Day 3: Tbilisi — Mtskheta — Jvari — Uplistsikhe — Gori  — Borjomi

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.
  • Excursion to Mtskheta — the first capital of the ancient Eastern Georgian kingdom of Iberia from the 3rd c. BC to V in. Here the Georgians adopted Christianity in 337 AD.
  • Visit to the monastery of Jvari (6th century). A beautiful landscape opening from the temple and overlooking the confluence of the two major rivers Aragvi and Mktvari.
  • Trip to Uplistsikhe — a tour of the pre-Christian cave city.
  • Lunch.
  • Trip to the city of Gori — the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Visiting the Stalin House — Museum is acquaintance with the things belonging to Stalin, including a part of his furniture from his study rooms, gifts to Stalin. The museum features Stalin’s personal railroad car-carriage.
  • Visit to the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century), the main Orthodox church in Georgia, built on the site of the former Zoroastrian temple. Also, an excursion around the Samtavro temple, and the fortress of Bebris Tsikhe.
  • Trip to the city of Borjomi — one of the famous resort towns in Georgia, which is famous all over the world. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Borjomi — Rabati — Vardzia — Khertvisi — Kutaisi

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.
  • A sightseeing tour of the famous balneological resort town of Borjomi. Visiting the central park and tasting mineral water from the spring.
  • Tour of the complex Rabat, which in former times was the palace of the rulers of Akhaltsikhe. Rabat is one big city in the city. In addition to historical fortresses, a tower, churches, cells and a mosque, there are also modern institutions of various types.
  • Lunch.
  • A trip to the cave city of Vardzia (rose castle). This is one of the significant monuments of the ancient material culture of Georgia. For many tens of meters along the banks of the Kura stretch sheer cliffs, where numerous buildings of cultural and secular purpose carved. The tuff layer, in which the caves are cut, is located in the middle belt of the cliff, which made them nearly impregnable. The construction of this complex and the monastery was started under the reign of Tsar George III (1156 – 1184) and completed in the reign of his daughter – Queen Tamara (1184 – 1213).
  • Excursion to the fortress of Khertvisi. It is considered one of the oldest and most functional fortresses in Georgia. Khervisi is one of the first settlements on the territory of Georgia, which originated in ancient times, but was destroyed after the arrival of Alexander the Great. The church on the territory of the fortress was built in 985, and the walls – in 1354. The fortress was repeatedly destroyed. In the XVI century, the entire southern region of Georgia was captured by Turkey, and for about 300 years the fortress belonged to the Turks.
  • A trip to the city of Kutaisi. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Kutaisi — Preserve Sataplia — Prometheus cave — Tsqaltubo — Tbilisi

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.
  • Departure to the Sataplia nature reserve, which is located near Kutaisi on Mount Sataplia. One of the attractions of the protected mountain of Satapli is represented in the form of petrified traces of dinosaurs. Scientists have discovered that these ancient animals lived in the Caucasus about 70 million years ago. In addition to the traces of dinosaurs, everything on the same Mount Satapli also reveals traces of the ancient man’s stay. The whole parking lot was unearthed in the mountain. After numerous tests and analyzes it was discovered that this site belonged to the Stone Age. Survey of a karst cave, traces of dinosaurs, a museum, an observation deck with a breathtaking view.
  • Excursion to the cave of Prometheus (or Kumistavi). It is located in Imereti, in the vicinity of the city of Tskhaltubo, 15 km from the city of Kutaisi. A natural cave with an underground river, an underground lake and even an underground waterfall. Traveling along it is accompanied by quiet music and playing light. Huge halls of stalactites and stalagmites of the most bizarre shapes, and colors.
  • Lunch.
  • A trip to the balneological resort of Tskhaltubo. Walking and tasting mineral springs that have specific and unique beneficial properties.
  • Return to Tbilisi. Transfer to the hotel. Free time.

Day 6: Tbilisi — Sighnaghi — Bodbe — Tbilisi 

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • A trip to the town of Signaghi (16th century), one of the most beautiful cities in Georgia.
  • Visit to Gvirabi is a unique ancient wine cellar where you can taste and enjoy fine Georgian wines.
  • Excursion to the monastery of St. Nina Bodbe (9th c.). Saint Nina, who brought Christianity to Georgia, is buried there.
  • Lunch.
  • Return to Tbilisi. Transfer to the hotel. Free time.
