• Visiting Haghpat Monastery (10th century). It is believed that the monastery is the holy water, which has healing properties and helps people with heart disease. According to the legend two great architects, father and son, began to build Sanahin monastery together. But then they quarreled, and the son decided to build his own monastery. Sanahin is famous for its beautiful “lace” cross-stones, none of which repeats the ornament of the other.
• Excursion to Sanahin monastery —  religious and cultural center during the reign of Kyurikids (10 – 12 century). The continuation of the legend tells that the son-architect managed to build a magnificent monastery and impressed his father. Seeing the work of the hands of his heir, the old architect exclaimed admiringly and approvingly “Ah, pat!” (“That’s the wall!”). That is why the monastery complex got its name Haghpat.
• Lunch.
• Sanahin Bridge is located in the city of Alaverdi in the Lori region, above the Debed River. It is one of the most important engineering structures of medieval Armenia. It was built by order of Queen Vaneni Kyurikyan at the end of the XII century in memory of her prematurely deceased husband, King Abbas Bagratuni. With its enchanting shapes, varieties of stone and colour, this basalt bridge blends in with its picturesque surroundings and becomes its inseparable treasure.
