Gata festival in Armenia

September 30 in the village of Khachik, Vayots Dzor region will be held a long-awaited gata festival. Residents of the village will prepare the largest gata with a diameter of three meters. Gata is a national Armenian dessert consisting of unsweetened puff pastry with a delicate cream filling (choriz). National dances, dishes, pastries – all this is waiting for those who are not indifferent to the Armenian national cuisine, to the festivities and innovations. The villagers of Khachik will present the fruits of their harvest. Visitors and guests will witness the preparation of gata and other traditional dishes that are peculiar to this region, and will also have the opportunity to taste all this. National music will be performed during the festival, dance ensembles, songs and folk games will be performed.
