Day 1: Arrival in Yerevan

• Arrival to «Zvartnots» International Airport. Our guide will meet you at the airport.
• Transfer to the hotel in Yerevan. Free time.

Day 2: Yerevan – City tour – Matenadaran – Tsitsernakaberd Memorial – Armenian Genocide Museum

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Sightseeing tour of the city of Yerevan – the ancient capital of Armenia, which is 29 years older than Rome.
• Tour itinerary: “Mother Armenia” monument – from where you can see an excellent view of the whole city, the Opera House, Republic Square, the “Cascade” architectural complex, the Cafesjian Museum of Modern Art, the monument to the hero of the Armenian epic “Sasuntsi David”.
• Excursion to Matenadaran – the pride of Armenian culture, the world’s largest repository of ancient manuscripts and books.
• Visit to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial and the Museum of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
• Lunch in Yerevan (Traditional Armenian Restaurant).
• Transfer to the hotel. Free time.

Day 3: Yerevan – Lake Sevan – Sevanavank – Armagan Volcano – Selim – Shativank – Yeghegis

• Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.
• Drive to Lake Sevan, which is the pearl of Armenia and the largest freshwater basin in Eurasia and the second largest Alpine lake in the world. Sevan is situated at an altitude of 1900 meters above sea level.
• Visit to Sevanavank Monastery (9th century).
• A trip to Mount Armaghan – an extinct volcano at an altitude of 2811 m above sea level, located in the Gegharkunik region. At the top of the mountain there is a small volcanic lake with a diameter of 100 m, partially filling the volcanic crater. Local residents call the mountain a gift from God. There is a beautiful legend where celestial fairies descend from the sky to swim and drink water from the lake. And in order to remain invisible to people, the top of the mountain is completely covered in fog at this time. (There are many wonderful landscapes to photograph).
• Lunch (lunch box).
• Trip to the Selim Caravanserai (inn) (2410 m above sea level), which was built along the Vardenyats mountain pass in 1332 to accommodate weary travelers and their animals, following the Silk Road from East Asia to the Mediterranean and back.
• Visit to the Shativank Monastery – one of the largest spiritual centers of the Syunik province, which was built by order of the Syunik princes Smbat, Sahak and Princess Sophia in 929. The monastery is located at an altitude of 1,651 m above sea level. In the 17th century a fairly large monastic community of 70-90 people lived here. On the territory of the monastery there was a school, a library, and a scriptorium.
• Drive to Yeghegis village. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Yeghegis – Smbataberd – Muradsar – Zorats Church – Yeghegis

• Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.
• Trip to Smbataberd castle (10 in.) — one of the oldest and largest castles of Vayots Dzor and Syunik (1930 m above sea level). (Walk or exciting jeep tour at your discretion, depending on weather conditions).
• Trip to Mount Muradsar. A long but unforgettable road in off-road jeeps awaits you. Here, on the rocks of the mountain, about a hundred amazing petroglyphs were found.
  Petroglyphs (rock carvings) are carved images on a stone base. They can have a variety of themes – ritual, memorial, symbolic with all possible intersections.
• Lunch (lunch box).
• A trip to the Zorats Church (Zorats tachar, translated as “Temple of Power”, XIV century), which is the only surviving structure without a vaulted or domed ceiling. A unique “open church”, with a high altar, approximately at the level of a rider in the saddle, so that they, without dismounting from their horses, could take an oath and receive a blessing for the upcoming battle.
• Return to the village of Yeghegis. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Yeghegis – Vayots Sar Volcano – St. Zion Church – Gerger Waterfall – Jermuk

• Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.
• A trip to Mount Vayots Sar – the youngest extinct volcano in Armenia (2586m). And although it fell asleep long ago (the last eruption was in 735), the name “Bad” remained with the mountain forever. It received it due to a large-scale eruption that occurred in 600 BC and completely destroyed one of the largest cities of that time – the city of Moz, located on the Great Silk Road, with a population of 10,000. It is estimated that the eruption, which lasted 40 days, claimed more lives in terms of casualties and destruction than the more famous eruption of Vesuvius at Pompeii (79).
• A trip to the monastery complex of St. Sion (XVII century), which is located 1 km northeast of the village of Gerger, on the top of a small rock surrounded by gorges. The exact time of foundation is unknown. The main group of monuments includes two churches and a chapel. Within the walled monastery territory, cells, remains of utility and outbuildings, and a cemetery have been preserved.
• Lunch (lunch box).
• Visit to the Gerger waterfall located on the right bank of the river of the same name in Vayots Dzor region. The waterfall is located in a rocky canyon, which makes the route difficult for visitors, but it is worth it. Once you reach the waterfall, it’s as if you forget about everything, break away from the world and enjoy the wonders of nature. The waterfall flows into a small crystal clear lake. On hot days you can see many people swimming here. Since 2008, the waterfall has been included in the list of state natural monuments.
• Visit to the city of Jermuk – a hydro-healing and climatic resort (2080 m above sea level), where the world-famous mineral table water “Jermuk” is produced.
• Dinner and overnight in Jermuk.

Day 6: Jermuk – Tatev – Khndzoresk – Goris

• Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.
• Visiting Jermuk waterfall and Galleries of mineral waters, where you can drink warm mineral water. Gallery of mineral water —  a business card and symbol of the town, built in the classic style of Armenian architecture.
• Tour of Tatev monastery — unique monument of Armenian architecture built in the 9th century. Tatev without exaggeration can be considered one of the most beautiful and amazing places on the Planet. By the monastery there is the longest reverse ropeway in the world (5752 m), ranked in the Guinness Book of Records.
• Lunch at the Shen-Hauz gastro-court in the village of Shinuair.
• A visit to the village of Khndzoresk, which is famous for its ancient cave dwellings on the hillside. «Dead city» of the living descendants holds many unsolved mysteries. In Khndzoresk there is a winging bridge, which runs across a deep and incredibly beautiful canyon, with its cliffs and caves.
• Trip to Goris. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Goris – Shaki waterfall – Arpa reserve – «Bird Cave» – wine tasting in the village «Areni» – Yerevan

• Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.
• Trip to the Shaki waterfall, which is considered one of the most beautiful and picturesque waterfalls in Armenia.
• A trip to the “Arpa” reserve, which is located in the village of Areni, in the gorge of the unique medieval historical and architectural complex “Noravank”. The reserve covers an area of ​​about 200 hectares, of which 40 hectares are karst caves. An interesting observation of Caucasian bezoar goats gracefully climbing red rocks (bezoars are listed in the Red Book).
• A trip to the karst caves in Areni, also known as the «Bird’s Cave», where a 5500 year-old leather shoe was found.
• Lunch in the village of Areni, where wines are produced from local grape varieties (wine tasting).
• Return to Yerevan. Transfer to the hotel. Free time..

Day 8: Transfer to the airport. Departure.
