Yerevan will celebrate 2,800th anniversary

Yerevan is one of the most ancient cities in the world wich is 29 years older than Rome. Yerevan was founded in 782 BC by Urartian King Argishti l. The foundation is evidenced by a cuneiform inscription discovered during archaeological excavations in the Erebouni fortress.

This year, Yerevan is celebrating its 2800^th anniversary. Alongside numerous festivals being held throughout the year organized by Yerevan Municipality, major celebrations of will take place on October 21.

This year’s holiday is titled as “Let’s Celebrate Together”. For decades, this holiday has been celebrated on different ways. It is celebrated since 1983 and is already became our traditional holiday.
