 Day 1:Yerevan – Khor Virap – «Bird Cave» – wine tasting in the village «Areni» – Noravank – Zorats Karer – Goris

[Tour duration: 10 hours / 300 km]

• Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.
• Excursion to the Khor Virap Monastery (literally translated as “deep dungeon”) (7th – 17th centuries). You will see an underground pit in which the future first patriarch of the Armenian Apostolic Church, St. Grigor Lusavorich (St. Gregory the Illuminator), languished in captivity for 13 years. The monastery is located 50 km from Yerevan on the Armenian-Turkish border. You will be treated to a beautiful view of the Biblical Mount Ararat.
• Lunch in the village of Areni, where wines are produced from local grape varieties (wine tasting)
• A trip to the Areni Karst Cave, also known as the “Bird Cave,” where the oldest leather shoes in the world, 5.5 thousand years old, were discovered.
• A trip to the Noravank Monastery (9th – 13th centuries) – one of the most magnificent medieval monuments in Armenia, located on the ledge of a narrow winding gorge with rare red rocks. This is truly a masterpiece of Armenian architecture.
• Trip to the ancient observatory of Zorats Karer (Karahunj), which is 7000 years old. The phrase “Zorats Karer” literally translates from Armenian as “army of stones.”  Karahunge has similar features to the English Stonehenge.
• Trip to the city of Goris. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Goris – Khndzoresk – Tatev – Shaki waterfall – Yerevan

[Tour duration: 10 hours / 330 km]

• Breakfast at the hotel. Check out from the hotel.
• Visit to the village of Khndzoresk, which is famous for its ancient cave dwellings on the mountainside. The «Dead City» of living descendants holds many unsolved secrets. In Khndzoresk there is a swinging bridge that passes through a deep canyon, incredibly beautiful, with its rocks and caves.
• Excursion to the Tatev Monastery – a unique monument of Armenian architecture, built in the 9th century. Tatev can be considered, without exaggeration, one of the most beautiful and most remarkable places on the Planet. The longest reversible cable car in the world (5752 m), which is included in the Guinness Book of Records, leads to the monastery.
• Lunch.
• Trip to the «Shaki» waterfall, which is considered one of the most beautiful and picturesque waterfalls in Armenia.
• Return to Yerevan. Transfer to the hotel. Free time.

The tour price is per person, based on double occupancy. The price includes all taxes and fees.

Notes. Please note the following information:

1. Accommodation in other hotels is possible upon request.
2. Children under 5 years old – free of charge (when staying with two adults in a room).
3. Children from 6 to 10 years old – 50% discount on the tour price (when staying on an extra bed with two adults in a room).
4. The program of the first and last days can be changed depending on the arrival/departure time of your flight.
5. Transfers from/to the airport will be organized for any flights.
6. Check-in at the hotel starts from 14:00, and check-out until 12:00. Depending on the time of arrival/departure, and if early check-in or late check-out is required, we can book an additional night at the hotel (additional charge applies).
